Sterlite Technologies bags orders of Rs 225 cr from PGCIL
Sterlite Technologies on Thursday said it has bagged two orders worth Rs 225 crore from the Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL).
"These contracts valued at about Rs 225 crore are part of a total bank of new orders valued at about Rs 450 crore that Sterlite has received since July 1, 2011," the company said in a statement.
The orders are for manufacture and supply of power conductors.
The first contract is for 765 KV double circuit Champa-Raipur Pooling Station Transmission Line in Chhattisgarh.
Sterlite Technologies said the second contract is for 400-kv Kishnganj-Patna Line.
"This transmission system is intended to evacuate power from hydroelectric generation projects in Sikkim to the Northern and Western regions of India," the statement noted.
Both projects would utilise Sterlite power conductors. Sterlite Technologies' whole time director Pravin Agarwal said the company would continue its involvement in developing power and telecom infrastructure highways in the country.
